Church Sound
Workshop Attendees
 |
Hi Mike, You taught our
class today in Lancaster and
I can honestly say that your
class was hands down the
best and most valuable
training I've ever received
in a single day. It was just
outstanding. You answered so
many of our churches nagging
questions and gave us so
much hope for improvement.
In fact, our guys got so
much out if your program
that we talked about the
possibility of trying to
arrange to host a similar
event in 2010. Thank you
again. Craig

Hector, Thank you for all
your help in bringing the
[HOW-TO Church Sound]
workshop to us, and may God
continue to bless you and
instructor Mike Sokol.
Again, Thank You.

Thanks Hector, We want to
let you know how much we
appreciated Mike and your efforts to get us on the
right track. I think I may
be one of your biggest
fans -- you guys really know
your stuff. I would
absolutely like to continue
our communication
because we've learned more
from you guys then anyone
else. Kaighn

I
wanted to just drop a line
to thank you for the
expertise that you shared
with each of us this past
Saturday. I myself have been
in the Television Business
for 14 years and audio has
always been a part I have
personally enjoyed but
really never had such a
clear explanation as you
presented on aspects of both
live sound mixing and the
equipment we work with.
Audio in television doesn’t
always take the priority it
should and I believe even
more attention must be paid
with the push of HDTV
content and digital
broadcasting in general. I
will also say my colleagues
that I work with at our
local church greatly
appreciated all the insight
you gave them in the world
of audio mixing in a live
environment. Once again
thank you for such a class
act of training you gave.
It’s hard to find that
anymore. So many claim
they're experts but know
just enough to be dangerous
and lead many in the wrong
direction.

Mike: I have
heard
nothing but
great things
from
attendees of
the League
City
workshop
last
Saturday.
You exceeded
expectations.
Working with
you two was
a pure joy,
and Mike,
the
knowledge
you have is
awesome.
People who
just started
working with
sound
received a
lot, and
those of us
who are more
experienced
learned new
and better
ways of
doing
things. A
couple of
people who
attended who
had years of
experience,
and I was
curious what
they would
get out of
it. They
both said it
was great
and very
valuable.
You guys hit
a home run
with the
Houston
crowd. Thank
you again
for a great
weekend. I
know it will
pay great
dividends
for our
church and
the churches
of those who
attended.

Hector: I
certainly
appreciate
all you did
for us at
the
Lafayette
Community
Church
HOW-TO
Church Sound
Workshop.
The
difference
in the sound
in our
church is
totally
amazing. And
by thinking
of the job
of sound
tech as
being a
ministry
instead of a
job also
makes a big
difference
in how the
task is
approached.
Your
enthusiasm
is
infectious,
and has
spread now
to at least
two other
individuals
who run the
board. A
most
heartfelt
thanks for
you
willingness
to share
your
knowledge
and
expertise.
The two
young boys,
Seth and
Nathan,
can't wait
to try their
hands on the
sound board!

I just
wanted to
let you know
how very
excited I
was about
the sound
seminar.
Mike and his
assistant
were
excellent
presenters;
extremely
knowledgeable
and
personable.
Our
technicians
can't stop
talking
about all
they gleaned
from the
event. A few
days after
the event
was done, we
got all our
guys
together
over a pizza
and talked
about what
we heard in
the two days
and that was
a great time
together. We
actually saw
positive
results in
our service
the very
next morning
as we ran
through the
sound check
the way Mike
suggested! I
have also
gotten
nothing but
positive
responses
from the
other
churches who
attended.
Thanks again
for bringing
the seminar
to
Pittsburgh
and I would
welcome the
chance to do
it again in
the future
or be a host
for the
advanced
seminar, if
you are able
to get that
together.

Mike: What a
pleasure it
was to host
this
seminar. On
behalf of
the church
and staff I
want to
thank you
for bringing
this seminar
to Allentown
Presbyterian
Church. You
were so easy
to work with
it made it a
breeze for
our Music
Minister
Carl and I.
You have a
terrific way
that you use
for
presentation.
I very much
enjoyed the
laid back,
easy going
style. But,
you kept to
your
schedule,
did not let
anyone
manipulate
the floor
and our
time. You
presented in
such a
fashion that
spoke to
everyone at
their level.
This indeed
is a gift.
Very
impressive
to say the
least. I
have been
doing sound
support for
the church
for 10 years
as the lone
tech. Now we
have
somewhat of
a team - be
that as it
may. I have
been the
sound man
for our
traveling
150 voice
choir for
about the
same amount
of time. I
was trained
in the army
and did some
work there.
I have
attended
about 20 or
so seminars
all over the
country and
only tell
you this as
background
to my next
comment..
This was by
far the
absolute
best 2 days
I have ever
spent in an
audio
workshop.
Outstanding
presentation.
Please feel
free to use
me as a
reference
for anyone
thinking
about
hosting a
seminar or
attending
one.

I recently
attended the
seminar in
Fort Wayne
and am
REALLY
impressed.
Thank you
for all you
guys are
doing. It
has really
improved our
sound! But I
would also
be
interested
in the
possibility
of hosting a
seminar in
our area,
Elkhart, IN.
We have gone
to the next
level, but
we're not
done yet.

Thank-you
for the
information
on the How
to Church
Sound
Workshops.
We have four
sound
volunteers
that are
very excited
to attend. I
know that
they will be
blessed with
the
knowledge of
how to run
our sound
system
better.
Also, to be
able to ask
questions,
and have
hands-on
instruction
is exactly
what they
need.
Thank-you
for having
the wisdom
and insight
to do this
for
churches,
regardless
of size. We
were
discussing
where to
send our
guys for
training,
when your
flyer about
the classes
came in the
mail. The
Lord bless
you and keep
you.

Hi Mike!
Thank you
again for
your
excellent
workshop
last
weekend. I
drove 5
hours each
way to
attend and
it was well
worth it!
Thanks also
for the cord
I can use
for my apple
laptop. Now
I just need
to figure
out how to
apply all
I've learned
to our
particular
situation. I
would love
to have the
HOW-TO Sound
Workshop
conduct a
presentation
here in the
St. Louis
area. Jan

Mike: Just a
quick note
to say how
much I
enjoyed this
weekend's
workshop at
Living Faith
United
Methodist
Church in
Omaha. I was
extremely
impressed by
the depth
and breadth
of the
presentation,
and your
patience
with our
novice
questions.
May God
bless the
work you are
doing for
the Church.

Hector: We
hosted this
workshop
last weekend
in Dallas.
It was
excellent --
I learned a
ton, and I
know the
other
participants
did as well.
The
presenter
was
extremely
knowledgeable,
but also
enjoyable
and fun. I
would highly
recommend
the workshop
to everyone.

I attended
your sound

I received
is
priceless!
Thanks for

Thank you
very much
for an
interesting,
informative,
professional,
comprehensive
and
extremely
well
presented
workshop. I
received
positive
feedback
from
everyone I
talked
to that
attended.
Our church
audio will
be enhanced
by your
efforts, and
we were
fortunate to
get two new
people
exposed to
the
important
aspects of
sound
systems, and
how they
integrate
with House
of Worship
presentations.
Thanks,

I wanted to
thank you
for your

in Orlando
last night.
I came up to

say "thanks"
and to let
you know
that I would
see you
again Friday
night for

The surround
workshop was
fantastic! Mike
is quite the
presenter and we
thoroughly
enjoyed every
aspect of the
surround
workshop. We
sincerely hope
that Fits and

back in the
future. Thanks
for everything.

"The Fits &

valuable
resource to our

I just wanted to
thank you again
for coming to
Peabody with
your workshop.
I've talked to
all of the
people who were
there and
everyone thought
it was very well
done and
informative!
After hearing
about all of the
cool things that
can be done with
surround sound,
I'm definitely
going to learn
more about the
subject!
Best, Brian B.

Can't thank you
enough for the
ever
enlightening
surround
workshop I was
thrilled to
discover how
accessible and
realistic
surround
recording and
mixing at this
point in time
for the up and
coming engineer.
I also was very
appreciative of
you sharing your
own personal
surround
techniques with
us, a lot of
folks don't like
to do that.
Thanks Again,
Eriel B.

Thank you for
your excellent
surround
presentation. That
was the first
authoritative
introduction
I've had into
the approaches
and processes of
surround. I've
been reading
back issues of
Surround
Professional
magazine and
there's so much
going on in
there beyond the
basics that I
hadn't been able
to assemble an
overall picture
until now. My
primary focus is
sound for
picture, and
that includes
video games.
Sound design is
very interesting
to me, so I
appreciate your
stories of how
you created the
theatre sound
effects. Thanks
again. I'll be
poring over the
websites you
gave us.
